We do it to each other because misogyny is socially rewarded. It's all part of that rhetoric that "normal"/baseline = white, middle-class, straight, male. In reverse order of importance, really. Look at what we can accomplish when we band together; it's totally understandable why men (the kyriarchy) are terrified of that and teach us to attack each other instead. Everything's a damn competition and MY WAY IS OBVIOUSLY BEST, etc.

I'm just really glad that I look younger than I am, so I don't often get the bizarre looks when I say I don't have kids. People just assume that I don't have kids YET, and sure, as long as "yet" is defined as "not during this lifetime," I don't have kids yet.

It's a very nice hammer.
