One of the ideas I hold very dear is that in a good relationship, it doesn't matter who's right, or wrong, or at fault. If there's a problem, fixing it is much more important (and constructive) than determining who caused it. At the same time, (and again, in a good/healthy relationship) you should never be hesitant to admit that the other person was right, because you know you won't be punished or reprimanded for being wrong. I didn't realize that it was possible for "You were right, and I'm sorry," to be EASY words to say until I was saying them to Jack.
