DOINK! Letter
Dear Moogle Claus,
Better late than never, I hope! This is my first year actively participating in the exchange (I pinch-hit last year), and I'm very excited!
Generally, I like good characterization, interesting relationships, slice-of-life/missing scenes, backstory, frontstory (that would be the opposite of backstory, right? stuff that happens after canon?), basically anything that acknowledges our characters as real people who have real lives aside from/outside of/before the plot. I'm not into stories whose problems could be solved by the characters taking five minutes to talk to each other like adults, or rooted in misunderstanding/wrong assumptions/pretending to be something they're not. (I don't like 85% of sitcoms for this reason.)
Beyond that, go with whatever rating the story demands - I'm really a big fan of turning the characters loose and letting themwreak havoc dictate. Sex, violence, whatever you need to go for. The only squicky areas I have are non/dubcon, emotional or physical abuse, and humiliation.

Fandom(s): Final Fantasy VIII
Request:
Post-game Squall/Rinoa. Adulthood sneaks in like the approaching spring, it's not a thunderbolt of revelation. They're two very different people, but they complement and challenge one another. It will never be an easy relationship, but it can be a happy and fulfilling one. Any rating, any genre.
When I was 19-20, living on my own, working my first full-time job (lo these many moons ago), I had what I later saw termed "Impostor Syndrome" - the feeling that I wasn't actually an adult, I was really still a teenager, and somebody was going to catch me at it and make me move back home. Considering that Squall went from introverted cadet to Acting Headmaster of Garden in about five minutes (give or take :D), his own struggle with Impostor Syndrome was fairly inevitable. I'm sure it got worse after they finished saving the world and actually had enough time to catch their breaths. But it gets easier, you get more confident, and then you come to the realization that you're not only an adult, but you've really been an adult for a while now.
Alongside this, his relationship with Rinoa (and the rest of his friends/comrades) is also maturing. I've seen a lot of Squall/Rinoa as sunshine and puppies, and a lot of them as inevitably divorced, but there's not much out there that shows how they learn to work together and form a solid (mature, adult) relationship.
Also, the fight scene at the beginning of the game? Totally a breakup fight.

Tseng/Rufus. This is another meaty, serious pairing built on trust and mutual respect. I have two wildly different directions; pick whichever suits your preferred angst level - either Rufus finding out that Tseng isn't dead (between VII and AC), or Tseng finding out about Rufus's Geostigma. Any rating (but I really like porn).
I really do like porn. And Tseng totally tops. I can't think of much to say beyond this - what I like about the pairing is the trust/respect dynamic, the way they mesh together. Rufus is fastidious, impatient, and lonely, while Tseng is exacting and proper with an underlying passion that few guess at.

Fandom(s): Final Fantasy XII
Request:
Fran/Balthier. How they met, how they got together, some adventure they had. The phrase 'wackiness ensues' should be an excellent description. Any rating - it can be wacky porn! Have fun writing this!
I haven't played RW yet (I haven't actually finished XII, for that matter), but I'm not wary of spoilers or anything. Obviously I like stories about different people who work well together.
Request 4
Fandom(s): Vagrant Story
Request:
Sidney/Ashley, 'In another universe, love, we could have had a lifetime.' AU, of any type or flavor. High school, college, noir, running a yarn shop, whatever. This is a really open-ended prompt, I'm sorry. Anything from how-they-met to celebrating 50 years together.
...Yeah. Very open. It could even be an AU of the game itself, just something where they can avoid doom.
