Thank you for following my link! I'm so incredibly excited, and I know this is going to be fantastic. Thank you for being willing to do this for me.

So here we go:

Things I like: Good writing, solid relationships, you know, the kind of stuff you get from Yuletide. I like smut (het or slash; not so much into femmeslash in these fandoms). I like gen. I can go the gamut from silly to dark, but I want the connection between the characters to be the most important thing. The sticky post on this journal is a list of fic I've written; I generally write what I like to read.

1. Mira Grant, The Newsflesh Trilogy

Well, only the first book, Feed, is out. Man, if this is our match, I will be totally over the moon. I love this book so much; it's the only book that's ever made me cry TWICE. (If you haven't read it yet? You should. It's amazing. A zombie novel for people who don't like zombie novels.)

Characters: Shaun Mason, Georgia Mason

I love this relationship so much. They're so very close, and, well, I read it to be shippy. Shaun/Georgia would thrill me to the depths of my soul.

This is a dark world, a profoundly unreliable world, and all they really have is each other. Opening up to anyone else would be downright dangerous, so why not just stick together mentally, emotionally, and physically? Shippy would delight me, smutty would make me even happier.

2. Repo! the Genetic Opera

A dystopian rock opera! This is totally my pet fandom, another if-you-haven't-seen-it-you-should. Anthony Stewart Head sings. Really, you need this in your life.

Characters: Amber Sweet, Luigi Largo, GraveRobber

Luigi/Amber makes me happy. Graverobber/Amber makes me happy. Jealous Luigi growling about Graverobber and trying to make Amber pick him instead makes me VERY happy. I hate Graverobber/Shilo with a burning passion.

I really do. Okay, this is two incest requests in a row, so I'm sure you're drawing all sorts of conclusions about me. XD But this is another dark world, where trust is rare and love is rarer, so the relationships are complicated and unnatural at best. Luigi and Amber totally adore each other, but never want to be vulnerable enough to show it all the way. Words are weapons, emotions are weapons, and sex is the biggest competition of all. But sometimes, behind closed doors and in stolen moments, they allow themselves to be honest - just for a minute. Graverobber and Amber are another complicated competition/relationship; it's a princess-and-the-peasant love story that never has a happy ending.

What I really love seeing (and no one ever writes it but me! sob!) is clean Amber, running the company with competence and style, and the relationship she can have with Luigi without their father's attention to get in the way.

3. Uglies series, Scott Westerfeld

Dark? Check. Dystopian? Check. Incest - well, not this time. Can't have everything. This is another universe where the current beauty craze and obsession with conformity is taken to its logical and rather nasty conclusion - when you turn 16, you get turned into a Pretty. Pretties are totally beautiful and utterly empty-headed, and life is one giant party - sort of like a fraternity fantasy brought to life. Of course, this doesn't sound good to everybody. A YA trilogy + 1 book.

Characters: Tally Youngblood, David, Zane

Freeform: Alternate universe

If Zane hadn't died, this had such OT3 potential.

I WANT TO SEE THIS SO BAD. I was so upset when Zane died; it seemed like such a cop-out. All three of them are rule-breakers, and David's spent his whole life in the wild. Why would a little thing like monogamy get in the way of a solid relationship? They both challenge her to think and grow in different ways; this might as well be one more.

4. Young Wizards, Diane Duane

And now for something completely different. Not dark, not dystopian, no incest... well, there's canon gay characters, does that count for anything?

I've loved this series since there were only three of them because I'm old. Urban fantasy before it was cool, wizards before Harry Potter, this is a series about the outcasts who save the world, about finding balance and peace in yourself, about being able to handle the shit life throws at you.

Characters: Tom Swale, Carl Romeo

Tom/Carl is totally my YW OTP. I would REALLY like to see a fic that explicitly (heh) acknowledges their relationship, rather than treating them like roommates.

I had the opportunity to talk to Diane Duane at a con a few years ago, and pretty much the first question I asked her (after "When's the next book coming out?") was, "Tom and Carl are a couple, right?" (Yes, yes they are.) Tom and Carl are treated like any other adult couple in the book - they live together, have jobs and pets and chores and a mortgage, and the teenagers they mentor don't have any inkling of their sex lives - as well it should be. But I am NOT a teenager, and I WOULD like an inkling of their sex lives. It doesn't actually have to be explicit, but something that shows that their relationship is a little more than platonic. Incidentally, I'd totally love to see that moment where Nita Gets It.
