Since I don't have anything better to do like homework, I've been wasting my time on the Most Awesomest Thing Ever battle site, compulsively clicking. The site, if you're not familiar with it, gives you the choice between two (often unalike, occasionally VERY unalike, sometimes disturbingly similar) nouns (and the occasional verb) and asks you, "Which is more awesome?" And when I say "nouns," I mean all KINDS of nouns. Famous people throughout history (like Benjamin Franklin and Usher), restaurants (KFC, PF Chang's, Taco Bell), historical events (the industrial revolution!), concepts (like "morality" and "CMYK" and "the big bang theory").
After you select, it gives you the winner's current standing (the "most awesomest" thing I've seen so far has been Music, at #4) and the number of battles won and lost.
Which is more awesome:
- Physical intimacy or Jane Austen? (that one wasn't helped by the fact I'm alone tonight; sorry, Jane)
- Mythbusters or Nextel? (geek boys FTW)
- Frank Lloyd Wright or the Tianamen Square protests of 1989? (I told you it was weird.)
- Marvel Comics or avocados?
- Lightning or The Godfather? (Sorry,
finch)
- Photosynthesis or Tetris?
- Akron, Ohio or the Theory of Relativity?
- Raisins or Reaganomics?
The sheer number of random things is mind-blowing.
Also, Ninjas are at #11.
ETA: Apparently #3 is Oxygen. Yeah, that's pretty fucking awesome.
ETA #2: #1 is the Internet. I think I can stop now.
