I'm not planning on doing NaNo this year - I'm still kind of burned out from last year, to be honest - but I'm definitely doing Yuletide. Just submitted my nominations and I'm starting to feel that excitement. I had so much fun writing my story last year, (In Two Bodies, based off Mary Renault's Alexander trilogy) and then even MORE fun pinch-hitting (I wrote Finding Zihuatanejo based off of Stephen King's "Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption" and This Christmas, a Repo! fic for
finch) so I can't wait to do it again.
For anybody on my list that doesn't know, Yuletide is an annual writing exchange for obscure fandoms. You start out in October by nominating your six favorite fandoms. (This year, I nominated Repo!, The Incredibles, Diane Duane's Young Wizards series, Guy Gavriel Kay's Sarantine Mosaic duology, L.M. Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables books, and... something else. That I've totally forgotten. But is awesome.)
