I just realized that I have a favorite embroidery stitch. (It's Lazy Daisies, if you're curious. I realized this because I hit the point of this pattern where there are a bunch of them and went, "Yay! My favorite embroidery stitch!") I cannot describe to you how much of a colossal nerd this makes me feel.

Am I alone, or do other people have favorite embroidery stitches, metaphorically speaking? (It doesn't have to specifically be an embroidery stitch, it could be a painting technique or a writing style or something.)

My favorite crochet stitch is the shell stitch. I have no idea why, but for whatever reason it relaxes me and makes me happy when it pops up in a pattern. My favorite part of writing is dialogue, when I'm first setting scenes down on paper and sort of roughly blocking in the rest. The dialogue usually comes to mind faster than I can write it down. I'm not saying it's good, just that I enjoy that part the best.

I love the name Lazy Daisies.

Oh, I love the Lazy Daisy.

I'm more of a knitter. My favorites are the Modified Seed Stitch (I made a baby blanket with this stitch blue yarn and it looked like waves on the ocean) for heavy knitting and the Spider Stitch for lace.

If you want to talk about little quirks, when I bake? I have this almost superstition that things come out better if I buy the store brand. No idea why. The best brownies I've ever made... are from a 99 cent Kroger brand mix. Cookies? The generic chips, always. I've experimented with this over the years and I just don't get it, but I go with it. =D /dork

I really like sewing on buttons.

I like not having to sew on buttons. 8]

Actually, I don't know a damn thing about embroidery, though I keep meaning to learn.

I don't know much embroidery, but I have a deep love of cable stitches in my knitting. Also lace patterns of basically any kind.

I have friends that belong to extreme knitting coms. You sewers are HARD KORE sometimes.
